Vellore District, Tamil Nadu

Vellore is an administrative district in Tamil Nadu, India. The district is located about 140 km from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Its administrative headquarters is in Vellore. Tamil and Telugu are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 6,075 km², including 5,531.10 km² of rural area and 543.90 km² of urban area.
