Purba Medinipur District, West Bengal
Purba Medinipur is an administrative district in West Bengal, India. The district is located about 120 km from Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Its administrative headquarters is in Tamluk. Bengali is the major language spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 4,713 km², including 4,488.69 km² of rural area and 224.31 km² of urban area.
