Purba Medinipur District, West Bengal
Purba Medinipur District is an administrative district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is situated about 120 km from Kolkata, the state capital of West Bengal. The district headquarters is located at Tamluk. Bengali is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 4,713 km², including 4,488.69 km² of rural area and 224.31 km² of urban area.
