Howrah District, West Bengal
Howrah District is an administrative district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is situated about 10 km from Kolkata, the state capital of West Bengal. The district headquarters is located at Howrah. Bengali is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 1,467 km², including 1,035.43 km² of rural area and 431.57 km² of urban area.
