Katihar District, Bihar

Katihar is an administrative district in Bihar, India. The district is located about 290 km from Patna, the capital of Bihar. Its administrative headquarters is in Katihar. Hindi, Maithili and Bengali are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 3,057 km², including 2,988.64 km² of rural area and 68.36 km² of urban area.
