Bihar
Bihar is a state located in the eastern region of India. It was established on 26-Jan-1950. The capital of the state is Patna. The official language is Hindi. An additional official language is Urdu. Major rivers of Bihar include Ganga, Kosi, Gandak, Son, Bagmati.
As per Census 2011, Bihar has a total geographical area of 94,163 square kilometres, including 91,838 square kilometres of rural area and 2,325 square kilometres of urban area.
The state has a bicameral legislature with 40 Lok Sabha seats, 16 Rajya Sabha seats, 243 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the Patna High Court. Bihar shares borders with Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and has an international border with Nepal.
