Shimla
Shimla is a district in the Himachal Pradesh State of India. The total area of Shimla district is 5,131 km², which includes 5,075.57 km² of rural area and 55.43 km² of urban area. There are about 2,705 villages in Shimla district.
For administrative convenience, Shimla district is divided into Tehsils, Blocks, PS, and Community Development Blocks (C.D. Blocks). In many states, Blocks or C.D. Blocks are treated the same as tehsils, though they may have slightly different roles depending on the region.
