Shimla District is an administrative district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. The district headquarters is located at Shimla. Hindi and Pahari are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 5,131 km², including 5,075.57 km² of rural area and 55.43 km² of urban area.
