Shimla is an administrative district in Himachal Pradesh, India. Its administrative headquarters is in Shimla. Hindi and Pahari are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 5,131 km², including 5,075.57 km² of rural area and 55.43 km² of urban area.
