Chatra District, Jharkhand

Chatra District is an administrative district in the state of Jharkhand, India. It is situated about 90 km from Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand. The district headquarters is located at Chatra. Hindi, Magahi and Santhali are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 3,718 km², including 3,685.39 km² of rural area and 32.61 km² of urban area.

Population of Chatra District

As per the Census 2011, Chatra District has a total population of 10,42,886 people, consisting of 5,33,935 males and 5,08,951 females.
