Kottayam

Kottayam is a district in the Kerala State of India. Total area of Kottayam is 2,206 km² including 1,932.29 km² rural area and 273.71 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Kottayam has a population of 19,74,551 peoples, out of which urban population is 5,65,393 while rural population is 14,09,158. Kottayam has a sex ratio of approximately 1039 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 895 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 4,87,296 houses in the district, including 1,40,397 urban houses and 3,46,899 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 80 villages in kottayam district.
