Viluppuram District, Tamil Nadu

Viluppuram District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 165 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Viluppuram. Tamil is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 7,194 km², including 6,992.66 km² of rural area and 201.34 km² of urban area.
