Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand

Uttarkashi is an administrative district in Uttarakhand, India. The district is located about 175 km from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Its administrative headquarters is in Uttarkashi. Hindi, Garhwali and Jaunsari are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 8,016 km², including 7,988.98 km² of rural area and 27.02 km² of urban area.
