Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand

Uttarkashi District is an administrative district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated about 175 km from Dehradun, the state capital of Uttarakhand. The district headquarters is located at Uttarkashi. Hindi, Garhwali and Jaunsari are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 8,016 km², including 7,988.98 km² of rural area and 27.02 km² of urban area.
