Chamoli District, Uttarakhand

Chamoli District is an administrative district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated about 210 km from Dehradun, the state capital of Uttarakhand. The district headquarters is located at Gopeshwar. Hindi and Garhwali are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 8,030 km², including 7,990.47 km² of rural area and 39.53 km² of urban area.
