Chamoli District, Uttarakhand

Chamoli is an administrative district in Uttarakhand, India. The district is located about 210 km from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Its administrative headquarters is in Gopeshwar. Hindi and Garhwali are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 8,030 km², including 7,990.47 km² of rural area and 39.53 km² of urban area.
