Malda District, West Bengal

Malda is an administrative district in West Bengal, India. The district is located about 340 km from Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Its administrative headquarters is in English Bazar. Bengali and Hindi are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 3,733 km², including 3,646.91 km² of rural area and 86.09 km² of urban area.
