Giridih is a district in the Jharkhand State of India. Total area of Giridih is 4,962 km² including 4,909.37 km² rural area and 52.63 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Giridih has a population of 24,45,474 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,08,024 while rural population is 22,37,450. The district has a population density of 492.8 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,96,521 houses in the district, including 35,812 urban houses and 3,60,709 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 2,558 villages in giridih district.
