Davanagere District is an administrative district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is situated about 265 km from Bengaluru, the state capital of Karnataka. The district headquarters is located at Davangere. Kannada is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 5,924 km², including 5,780.31 km² of rural area and 143.69 km² of urban area.
