Satara

Satara is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Satara is 10,480 km² including 10,044.83 km² rural area and 435.17 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Satara has a population of 30,03,741 peoples, out of which urban population is 5,70,378 while rural population is 24,33,363. Satara has a sex ratio of approximately 988 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 286.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,53,735 houses in the district, including 1,25,148 urban houses and 5,28,587 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,719 villages in satara district.

The Satara district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
