Imphal East District, Manipur

Imphal East District is an administrative district in the state of Manipur, India. It is situated about 10 km from Imphal, the state capital of Manipur. The district headquarters is located at Porompat. Meitei (Manipuri) and Bengali (Jiribam) are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 709 km², including 668.15 km² of rural area and 40.85 km² of urban area.
