Manipur

Manipur is a state located in the north-eastern region of India. It was established on 21-Jan-1972. The capital of the state is Imphal. The official language is Meitei. An additional official language is English. Major rivers of Manipur include Barak, Manipur River, Iril.

As per Census 2011, Manipur has a total geographical area of 22,327 square kilometres, including 22,148 square kilometres of rural area and 180 square kilometres of urban area.

The state has a unicameral legislature with 2 Lok Sabha seats, 1 Rajya Sabha seat, 60 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the Manipur High Court. Manipur shares borders with Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, and has an international border with Myanmar.
