Nagaland

Nagaland is an Indian state located in the North-Eastern region of India. It was established on 01-Dec-1963. The capital of the state is Kohima. Dimapur is the largest city. The official language is English. Major rivers include Dhansiri, Doyang, Dikhu.

As per Census 2011, the total area of the state is 16,579 square kilometres, including 16,336 square kilometres of rural area and 243 square kilometres of urban area.

The state has a unicameral legislature with 1 Lok Sabha seat, 1 Rajya Sabha seat, 60 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the Gauhati High Court. Nagaland shares borders with Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and has an international border with Myanmar.
