Madurai District, Tamil Nadu
Madurai District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 460 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Madurai. Tamil is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 3,710 km², including 3,392.55 km² of rural area and 317.45 km² of urban area.
