Varanasi District, Uttar Pradesh

Varanasi District is an administrative district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated about 295 km from Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters is located at Varanasi. Hindi, Urdu and Bhojpuri are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 1,535 km², including 1,371.22 km² of rural area and 163.78 km² of urban area.
