Barpeta District, Assam

Barpeta is an administrative district in Assam, India. The district is located about 120 km from Dispur, the capital of Assam. Its administrative headquarters is in Barpeta. Assamese, Bengali and Bodo are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 2,282 km², including 2,245.62 km² of rural area and 36.38 km² of urban area.
