Sikkim

Sikkim is an Indian State located in the Northeastern region of India. Sikkim state is established on 16-May-1975 and the capital of Sikkim is Gangtok. Sikkim is a small and breathtakingly beautiful state in northeastern India, nestled in the Himalayan mountains. It's known for its stunning landscapes, like the snow-capped Kanchenjunga, the third-highest peak in the world. Sikkim is also famous for its warm and welcoming people and vibrant Buddhist culture. The major cities of Sikkim include Gangtok, Namchi, Geyzing, Mangan, Jorethang etc., while the largest city in the state is Gangtok.

As per the 2011 Census, the total area of Sikkim is 7,096 km², including 7,057.75 km² of rural area and 38.25 km² of urban area. Nepali, Bhutia, Gurung, Lepcha, Limbu, Manggar, Newari, Sherpa, Sunwar, Tamang are the main languages spoken in Sikkim. Sikkim has a sex ratio of approximately 889 females for every 1,000 males. As per the ISO 3166-2:IN standard, the ISO code of Sikkim is IN-SK.
