Telangana is an Indian State located in the Southern region of India. Telangana state is established on 2-June-2014 and the capital of Telangana is Hyderabad. Telangana is a beautiful state in India, famous for its historic landmarks like the Charminar and Golconda Fort. It's where you can see colorful Bathukamma flower festivals and taste spicy Hyderabadi biryani - yum! The major cities of Telangana include Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad etc., while the largest city in the state is Hyderabad. When it comes to rivers, Godavari, Krishna are the main rivers of Telangana state.
Total area of Telangana is 1,14,840 km² including 1,11,104.77 km² rural area and 3,735.23 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Telangana has a population of 3,51,93,978 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,36,08,665 while rural population is 2,15,85,313. There are about 83,57,826 houses in the state, including 31,34,583 urban houses and 52,23,243 rural houses.
Telugu, Urdu are the main languages of Telangana. As per ISO 3166-2:IN standard - the ISO code of Telangana is IN-TG. Telangana state is further divided in to districts for administrative purposes. Mahbubnagar is the largest district of Telangana covering area of 18432 km² while Hyderabad is the smallest district of Telangana covering area of 216.999561112923 km². Rangareddy is the most populous whereas Nizamabad is the least populous district in Telangana state.
