Tumkur

Tumkur is a district in the Karnataka State of India. Total area of Tumkur is 10,597 km² including 10,468.86 km² rural area and 128.14 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Tumkur has a population of 26,78,980 peoples, out of which urban population is 5,99,078 while rural population is 20,79,902. Tumkur has a sex ratio of approximately 983 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 253 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,40,081 houses in the district, including 1,42,560 urban houses and 4,97,521 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 2,582 villages in tumkur district.
