Telangana

Telangana is a state located in the southern region of India. It was established on 02-Jun-2014. The capital of the state is Hyderabad. The official language is Telugu. An additional official language is Urdu. Major rivers of Telangana include Godavari, Krishna, Musi, Bhima, Manjira.

As per Census 2011, Telangana has a total geographical area of 114,840 square kilometres, including 111,105 square kilometres of rural area and 3,735 square kilometres of urban area.

The state has a bicameral legislature with 17 Lok Sabha seats, 7 Rajya Sabha seats, 119 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the Telangana High Court. Telangana shares borders with Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Odisha.
